Kathleen Cowle

Scottish Pharmacy Board Vice-Chair

Having joined Boots in 1995 as an undergraduate, Kathleen completed her degree at Strathclyde University in 1996 and her Pre-Registration training the following year.

Kathleen has held numerous Pharmacy Support and Management roles throughout her career where she has had the opportunity to train, develop and support other Pharmacists within the organisation.

Kathleen's current role involves engaging with MSP’s across Scotland, sharing with them all the benefits community pharmacy and pharmacists bring to the NHS and to patients.

Kathleen has enjoyed chairing the APC in Forth Valley for the last 10 years, contributing to the FV Area Clinical Forum and Health Board Clinical Strategy. Being chair of the APC and Secretary to CPS –FV, has allowed her to contribute to the local development of many successful initiatives, including Pharmacy First and Protected Learning Time.

Kathleen's first year on the RPS Board has been a steep learning curve but in the last six months she has contributed more to consultations and strategy, making sure community pharmacy is represented and considered. Kathleen is looking forward to year two and hope to continue to challenge herself and other RPS representatives to listen to and act on behalf of all pharmacists. She believes we have many challenges and opportunities in pharmacy across the country and united professional voice is essential.
