We’re proud to be the professional leadership body for pharmacists and pharmacy in England, Scotland and Wales.
Very soon the Society will no longer be the regulator for pharmacy; regulation will move to the separate General Pharmaceutical Council. The new Society, without regulation, will offer members the support and development you need throughout your career, whichever sector you’re in, whenever you need it, to fulfil your professional potential.
The benefits of membership cover 5 key areas of action that the Society is committed to. We will:
All this will come for an annual fee in 2011 of only £192 - that's less than £4 a week to be the best professional you can be.
Reduced fee structure
The Society recognises the importance of supporting individuals who are currently not practising as part of its remit to maintain and strengthen links across the profession. For this reason, a discount structure has been established for retired pharmacists, those on maternity leave or pharmacists who are not currently working, perhaps due to long term ill-health.
In addition, the standard membership fee is being reduced by 5% for all members who choose to pay annually via direct debit to make Society membership as affordable as possible.

* Will the membership fee be tax deductible?
The Society has been in discussion with HMRC to ensure the membership fee for the new professional body is tax advantageous to every member.
If you earn under £43,875 per annum, with a tax code of 647L (standard code) then the saving is £3 per month, which is a total annual saving of £36 against the member fee of £192. If you earn over £43,875 per annum, with a tax code of 647L (standard code) then the saving is £7 per month, which is a total saving of £84 against the member fee of £192.
This is a major saving to members and the fee payable is as low as £9 per month.
