The Royal Pharmaceutical Society has released its 2023 annual credentialing report, providing feedback from assessors and assessment outcome data for its advanced and consultant credentials.
The report is designed to share insights with candidates, supervisors, and mentors about what successful portfolios look like and which domains typically have higher or lower success rates.
We also hope the data and feedback we are sharing are useful for educational partners and wider stakeholders involved in developing the post-registration UK pharmacy workforce.
The report demonstrates the RPS’s commitment to transparency in its assessments to identify development and training needs across the profession and identify any early differential attainment between different candidate groups.
Joseph Oakley, RPS Associate Director of Assessment and Credentialing, said: “I hope the information in this report will be read by every candidate undertaking credentialing across all levels, as well as by those supporting them on their journey.
“We intend to provide valuable insights into where we are seeing successes and challenges from our candidates across advanced and consultant levels of practice, with the ultimate hope of improving chances of a successful outcome on results day for future candidates.
“Our educational governance bodies continue to monitor our attainment data closely, including any emerging differentials, recognising that candidate numbers are still small at this early stage.”
Next year’s annual Credentialing Report 2024 will also contain assessment data for RPS credentialing assessment programmes for post-registration foundation pharmacists, with our first assessments at this level taking place this month.
