After leaving full-time work, her interest continued when she became a member of the NHSEngland Specialist Commissioning Quality Assurance Framework Project Board for a couple of years. She also worked as a Partner for the Health Care Professions Council, where she specialised in recruitment of education visitors and registration assessors.

In the past year, she has had the opportunity to extend her experience by undertaking as hoc work for the educational governance team of a local authority.

Since 2016, she has been a member of the Lay Committee of the Royal College of Anaesthetists. She is a member of the Project Board and Clinical Reference Group for the National Emergency Laparotomy Audit. She has also worked on the CPD Committee and recently participated in the COMPAC initiative.

Lynne also enjoys being a volunteer in schools for an overseas development charity and a local supporter of a refugee charity. Other interests include the theatre and cinema. Her experience as a family carer during the past couple of years has given her a new perspective on health and social care services.
