Catriona is a community pharmacist independent prescriber with 30 years’ experience working for multiple and independent pharmacies in both urban and rural settings.  She moved to the Highlands in 2009 and became a contractor thereafter which has proven to be the best decision she ever made. 

Catriona has been involved in pharmacy and healthcare committees within NHS Highland for the last 11 years and now chairs several groups. 

Rural communities have many different healthcare requirements and rural deprivation brings different challenges.  Being able to help influence this locally has been interesting and professionally rewarding.

As a pharmacy owner, Catriona understands the need to balance finances with the wish to deliver increasing services for patients.  She feels that it is important that professional services are valued so that we can be innovative and recruit and train our teams appropriately to advance patient care.   Catriona’s aim for her, and her pharmacy team, is to deliver high quality services for all patients to try and improve health outcomes and reduce health inequalities.
