About the service

The RPS Accreditation service ensures healthcare professionals, many of whom may be RPS members, can identify the best available resources to support them with promoting and developing high quality professional practice, to enable them to contribute to raising standards in pharmacy, medicines management and patient care.

Our accreditation involves the evaluation of materials by reviewers who have the appropriate professional expertise and experience in the relevant subject matter, training and development.

What do we accredit?

We accredit the following materials:

• Training courses – e.g. face to face training courses, distance learning courses
• E-learning programmes e.g. online training courses, distance learning programmes
• Published materials – e.g. journal articles with CPD value, learning support tools
• Events – e.g. conferences, seminars, workshops

What is suitable for accreditation?

We accredit materials that are:

• related to the use of medicines and their management
• relevant to the practice of pharmacy
• relevant to pharmaceutical sciences
• relevant to public health

We endeavour to meet even the most demanding of accreditation needs maintaining flexibility and a personal focus to suit your requirements.

We are not able to accredit materials that:

• are related to the use and management of substances that have no/poor evidence base
• lead to the award of degree programmes or credentials
• lead to a formally recognised qualification e.g. NVQs, QP eligibility
• result in the accreditation of premises, services, individual trainers, training providers, attendees, people, organisations, products, devices or websites
• are indirectly related to pharmacy/ pharmacy practice e.g. training on the use of medical devices (such as BP monitoring, diagnostic screening materials) management and personal development.
