Developing your practice

Pharmacist

As healthcare continues to change, so do the demands on pharmacists. The use use of new therapies and new technologies provide ever more ways to meet the needs of our patients. These changes require pharmacists from all sectors to be up to date with the latest developments, so that they are developing themselves, developing their practice and developing the services for the benefit of patients and the public.

The Society is here to support its members in their development, providing them with accessible and recognisable ways to develop and advance themselves, their practice and their services.

Many of the specialist groups in the profession provide development opportunities for their members and we are working in partnership with these groups to ensure these opportunities can be more accessible to those pharmacists working in general practice. As well as recognising and celebrating their sterling work.

How will the Society support me in developing my practice?

We can support you in developing your practice in the following ways:

What are the benefits of developing your practice?

By having a robust process for developing practice, which includes recognised education and training (signposting and accreditation), recognised curricula and professional recognition itself (credentialing), you will have the evidence for revalidation, recognition of your level of competence, which should lead to improved career satisfaction and rewards.
