The Society organises a wide range of exciting pharmacy events every year, from conferences to courses and webinars. All of our courses are an excellent opportunity to strengthen and develop your career, network with your colleagues and enhance your CPD portfolio.
Our conferences cover a multitude of topics relevant to the pharmaceutical industry in a variety of formats, including presentations and workshops. Courses hosted by the Society are delivered in a classroom setting and allow delegates to discuss real challenges faced in day to day work with our expert lecturers. Webinars are great way to learn at a time that suits you, live sessions are held outside of working hours and offer a truly interactive experience, alternatively all of our past webinars are available to watch online anytime.
We also hold the RPS Annual Conference every year, this 2-day programme is not to be missed. During the Conference we address current issues and challenges faced in all sectors of pharmacy, showcase innovative practice, hear from inspiring speakers, and leading healthcare professionals and numerous exhibitors offer new products and services.
What we're doing
We're working hard to raise key issues that are important to our members, and highlight the role that pharmacists can play in meeting key health target so governments, other healthcare professionals and the general public.
Some of our current priorities include influencing legislative change; such as the decriminalisation of dispensing errors, medicines safety, and information management & technology; incorporating the adoptation of electronic care records. Details of all of our priorities, and what we're doing about them, can be found in the Promoting Pharmacy section.
We engage in public affairs activity with, and champion the Society's policies to, the devolved governments of England, Scotland and Wales. We influence political decision-making and help shape policies, ensuring that Government policy reflects the priorities, concerns and aspirations of pharmacists. The Society is also involved with informing policy-making organisations of the European Union (EU).
The Society frequently responds to consultations on behalf of our members. We strive to ensure that the views of our membership are reflected in our responses to consultations and that pharmacists across all sectors have a clear and strong voice in all discussions which affect healthcare and pharmacy.
Members have the opportunity to tell us their views on current consultations. We also make our completed consultation responses freely available for viewing on our website.
The Society publishes a number of communications; including the award-winning E-news which keeps our members up-to-date with all the developments from the Society, as well as the latest information on our services and all the news from the profession.
For our student members, there is Get Involved! which is published in conjunction with BPSA. This news letter features the latest news from Tomorrow's Pharmacist, BPSA and the Society, as well as offers from PharmPress.
