Continuing professional development support

Our CPD support service provides you with the support and guidance you need to go beyond meeting the CPD standards so that you are continually developing and improving your practice now and throughout your professional life.

We understand how stressful CPD can sometimes be. With such busy working lives we know that it can often be seen as another burden. But with the right support and some handy tips, you’ll soon be finding opportunities for CPD in everything you do.

We offer:

• CPD surgeries and local support through local practice forums
• webinars (online events) on key topics to help advance your knowledge and develop your practice
• information via the website from getting started, through recording your CPD to submitting your records to the regulator
• individual support via our telephone support service

Developing your practice

Get recognised for your development. We’re working to establish clear, common levels of practice across the profession and developing an inspirational career ladder. As a member you’ll have access to the frameworks and assessments we’re developing with the profession to recognise your professional development post registration.

Access to online library resources

We have four databases with full text journal articles and a number of electronic books on medicine and pharmacy allowing you to find answers, complete your CPD and conduct research. No matter what time or place, these resources are the answer to your information needs.

Pharmacy Professional

Our award-winning monthly magazine, exclusively for members, has a potent mix of professional and business articles, as well as profiles of pharmacists and political comment, essential reading for pharmacists to keep you up to date on news in the profession.

You’ll also find a rich selection of lifestyle features including personal finance, travel, transport, food and fashion, as well as exclusive offers for members.

Pharmaceutical Journal

Members of the Society will receive a printed copy of the Pharmaceutical Journal. You’ll also have exclusive online access to the Learning and Development section of PJ, free optional annual subscription to Clinical Pharmacist, full access to the PJ Online library and e-newsletters, and access to PJ Careers, both online and in the print version of the PJ.

Discounts on all our publishing titles

Receive a minimum 20% discount on all Pharmaceutical Press print titles, 25% pre-publication discount up to 3 months prior to publication and up to 45% discount on a selection of professional support and career development titles. Members can also access Martindale online via MedicinesComplete for an annual subscription of just £100 plus VAT (full price £230). Bulk discounts are also available.
