As you're applying to be a Member of the Society, we need you to provide us with either your General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) or your previous Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPSGB) registration number. This is because only pharmacists or former pharmacists are eligible to join the Member category.
We will use this information to help verify your details and eligibility for membership. If we are unable to verify your details we will be unable to process your application and may need to contact you for more information.

A Society Fellowship is awarded to a member of not less than 12 years' standing who has made an outstanding original contribution to the advancement of pharmaceutical knowledge or attained distinction in the science, practice, profession or history of pharmacy.
You must be a member of the Society to nominate someone for a Fellowship and nominations should be confidential. The nomination must be supported by two other members, and one of you must also be a Fellow. Once awarded the title of Fellow is valid for as long as the individual remains a member of Society.

The Associate Category is open to anyone who holds a degree in pharmacy, i.e. the MPharm or its overseas equivalent, from an institution recognised by the Society but who is not eligible to become a Member i.e. you have never been on the register of pharmacists in Great Britain.
To be eligible for the Associate membership category your pharmacy degree (or equivalent qualification) must be from an institution recognised by the Society.
GB institutions recognised by the Society
The Society uses the
FIP's World List of Pharmacy Schools as its recognised list of overseas institutions.
Check that your pharmacy degree (or its equivalent) is on the Society's GB or overseas list of recognised institutions before you apply for membership.
If you have passed the GPHC's Overseas Pharmacists' Assessment Programme (OSPAP) course then you are eligible to apply for the Associate category.
 
The Student category is open to anyone studying for a pharmacy degree, i.e. a Master of Pharmacy degree (MPharm), or its overseas equivalent, at an institute recognised by the Society. The category is also open to students undertaking an OSPAP course at one of the GPhC accredited course providers.
Student members studying in Great Britain will also receive joint membership of the British Pharmaceutical Students' Association.
 
Pharmaceutical Scientist membership is open to applicants holding, at least, a bachelor degree (or its equivalent), in a subject related to the pharmaceutical sciences, and working in, or having worked in, the basic or applied sciences, or the social sciences,
impinging on the discovery, development, delivery, quality, safety, efficacy, regulation or usage of medicines and medical devices and their educational development in all its many aspects.
