Career: Steve Williamson is a Consultant Pharmacist for Cancer Services. His role is split between Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and the North of England Cancer Network (NECN). He has worked in cancer services for over 10 years. Within the Trust, Steve provides leadership and strategic direction to the development and delivery of chemotherapy services. He is also the Professional Secretary to the North of England Cancer Drugs Approval Group (NECDAG).

Steve has undertaken research and published on a variety of topics including capacity planning, oral chemotherapy, patient access schemes and complimentary and supportive care medicines.

Steve’s clinical commitment includes running an oral anticancer medicine clinic prescribing chemotherapy and supportive care. Steve also provides support to the cancer clinics working alongside medical consultants and has a clinical role on the oncology wards, reviewing patients and verifying chemotherapy.
