The Royal Pharmaceutical Society Museum offers an historical research service based on the information and objects we hold. We act as a national point of contact for the history of pharmacy. We answer enquiries including the identification of pharmacy antiques, the career history of pharmacists and their premises, the history of medicines and treatments, or questions about the history of the Society itself.
Please be aware that we receive a high volume of enquiries, which we answer in order of receipt. We aim to respond to enquiries within two working weeks, but please let us know if you are working towards a particular deadline as we may need plenty of notice to meet this.
Specific services include:
- research of pharmacists' family histories and the history of premises
- reproduction of images from a photographic archive
- the loan of two travelling showcases
We welcome requests to look at our stored collections. If you would like to see any objects in the Museum's collections, please contact us to make an appointment. Please note that the majority of our collections are stored off-site, so we would appreciate as much notice as possible in order to make the necessary arrangements to make the items accessible.
Please contact us for more details via telephone on 020 7572 2210 (museum enquiries only) or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
