There is just over one month left before the Department of Health launches the NHS Quit Kit campaign to help smokers give up the habit in the New Year. The Quit Kit contains leaflets with practical advice along with information about the range of expert help available such as local stop smoking services.

Throughout 2012 the kits have been a major success. 64% of Quit Kit recipients made a quit attempt and 32% quit for four weeks or more. Pharmacists that have not already put their order in for the kits are being encouraged to do so, to help these encouraging figures continue to grow.

They are provided to pharmacies free-of-charge by calling 0800 678 3173.

If you are part of a large multiple pharmacy or part of a small chain of pharmacies, please check with your head office as an order may have already been placed. However, if you are part of a pharmacy chain and would still like to order Quit Kits, please email pharmacyorders@dh.gsi.gov.uk.
