Annual Conference 2015 - Presenters

Many thanks for your contribution to the 2015 RPS Annual Conference.

Below are the deadlines for oral and poster presenters presenting at this year’s conference.

Cancellations and substitutions

Please avoid late cancellations or substitutions as marketing material including the conference handbook and program with the speaker's name and organisation will be pre-printed and cannot be removed at a later date. If you need to cancel or substitute speakers please inform as early as possible.

Oral presenter information

Please find below information to help you with your oral presentation.

These presentations have been given a 13 minute presentation slot, recommended 10 minutes for presentation and 3 minutes for questions. Note: If you exceed your allocation no questions will be taken. Chairs will be advised to keep strictly to time.  

If you have opted in to give a quick oral talk for your poster during the poster viewing session you will be notified prior to the conference of the date and time for you poster talk.
If you have not opted in and would like to give a 5 minute talk on your poster in the exhibition area, please contact by 31 July.

Speaker biography

A brief biography (approximately 50 words) for presenters who are presenting a 13 minute oral presentation is to be provided to the events team at by 7 August. Biographies may include presenter/s positions, career details and major work achievements to date. Biographies should be written in the third person. Your biography will be used when introducing you as a speaker at the Conference.

AV Requirements

You are required to indicate any specific audio visual requirements by email to by 7 August. If you do not indicate your requirements the Conference Organiser is not responsible for equipment not supplied.

Your presentation should be presented in PowerPoint. Each meeting room is equipped with data projection facilities, lectern and microphone. An audio visual operator in the room will control the presentation, lights and audio and will be able to assist you with any questions.

Please ensure your presentation is brought to the conference on a USB Stick.

PowerPoint Presentation Tips

  • All text should be in PowerPoint, preferably in light text on dark background 
  • There should be no more than 6 x 1 line bullet points per slide 
  • Optimum title text is 45 - 55 points and no smaller than 36 points 
  • Body text should be at least 26 points 
  • Avoid UPPERCASE letters as they are hard to read 
  • Please keep to the time limit of your presentation.

Disclosure of interest

Presenters are asked to include a disclosure of interest slide in your presentation to disclose your relationships with industry and other organisations if applicable. We recognised the considerable contribution that industry partners make to professional and research activities and we value these greatly.

We are also looking at ways to increase opportunities of transparency for disclosing conflicts of interest and to make this as straight forward as possible for presenters. One common way of doing this is to acknowledge these relationships in publications and presentations. 

At the Conference

A technician will be available to assist you and to discuss any audio visual queries you may have. You will also have the opportunity to practice your presentation. Your presentation will need to be brought on a USB at least 2 hours before the session you are speaking in begins. 

Presentation Consent Form
You will be provided with a presentation consent form at the conference, this form will need to be completed and handed back to the conference organiser onsite. You will be able to advise on the form whether you consent to having your presentation recorded.

By agreeing to present at the conference you agree to be contacted by a representative from the RPS Communications Team and or The Pharmaceutical Journal editorial team who may wish to interview you about your presentation. You may also be asked to take part in filming to be used for promoting the conference on the RPS website.
