Our Associate members are individuals who have a degree in pharmacy, but are not yet eligible to be Members.
This category is therefore primarily for:
- Preregistration trainees
- Pharmacists registered overseas (who have never registered in Great Britain)
Associate members of the Society can use the letters ARPharmS after their name and have access to all the services and benefits offered by the Society.
The preregistration trainee year is one of the most important of your career and can often be one of the most stressful. Membership of the Society can support you through your training, ensuring you have all the tools you need to make your year go as smoothly as possible.
If you’re an existing Student member and have just graduated you can ‘upgrade’ to Associate membership by calling the membership team on 0845 257 2570. If you’re not an existing member, you can apply online now to become an Associate member.

Following a decision by our members in 2010 to introduce an Associate membership category, membership is now open to anyone who holds a degree in pharmacy from an institute recognised by the Society, but is not (yet) eligible to become a Member. The Society currently uses the International Pharmaceutical Federation’s (FIP) official world list of Pharmacy Schools as its recognised list of schools.
