National guidelines
The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) produces guidance on promoting good health and preventing and treating ill health. NICE also produces quality standards which are a set of specific, concise statements that act as markers of high-quality, cost-effective patient care, covering the treatment and prevention of different diseases and conditions.
The Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network (SIGN) develops evidence based clinical practice guidelines for the National Health Service (NHS) in Scotland.
