Pharmacy guide

One of the key skills of a pharmacist is to perform a clinical assessment or clinical check before medicines are prescribed, supplied, or administered. As a pharmacist you have an important role in preventing the occurrence of errors through clinical checks by reviewing people’s medicines, identifying and informing the prescriber of errors and potential pharmacotherapeutic problems.

You can use this guide for support in performing a clinical check — it covers important things to consider, such as what to check, where to find information, and record keeping requirements. By using your skills and following this guide, you can help ensure that patients get the right medicines and avoid any potential problems.
