Professional experience and particular interests: Thorrun is a community pharmacist with a strong media presence. Having studied at King’s College London, she completed her Pre-Registration training at Manor Pharmacy in Newark-on-Trent. Joining the register in September 2016, Thorrun is the youngest elected board member at the Royal Pharmaceutical Society.

In her spare time prior to qualification she completed work experience for a range of media organisations including the BBC, both in radio and television and interned in Parliament.

Thorrun has utilised local and national media to promote pharmacy, including stints as the resident pharmacist at BBC Radio Lancashire, BBC Radio London and appearances on BBC Newsnight and the Victoria Derbyshire Show. Thorrun also utilises social media to advocate for the profession and is an avid tweeter- @pharmthorrun. In 2018 she was nominated by her MP for the NHS70 Parliamentary Awards- ‘Healthier Communities Award’ for her advocacy.

Since January 2017, Thorrun has been a member of Lancashire Local Pharmaceutical Committee. She is currently enrolled on the Mary Seacole NHS Leadership Programme and will be commencing the pharmacy diploma shortly.
