Alasdair is currently Superintendent Pharmacist of two pharmacies on the south side of Glasgow. Having started his career with Boots he consequently held a number of pharmacy management positions in both multiple and independent pharmacies before becoming a contractor pharmacist himself. 

Alasdair has served on the board of SPGC and subsequently Community Pharmacy Scotland since 2004 and as Secretary to Glasgow and Clyde Contractors’ Committee since 2003. He has represented community pharmacy on the NES Pre-Registration Pharmacist Professional Group, the National Stoma Steering Group and the Primary Care Cancer Group, as well as numerous short life working groups both locally and nationally. 

Alasdair is a member of NHS Glasgow and Clyde Pharmacy Practice Committee, a former member of the Area Pharmaceutical Committee and the National Appeal Panel. Since 2015 he has also been a member of Community Pharmacy Lanarkshire. 

A former pharmacy champion, Alasdair is also an Independent Prescriber having previously run clinics supporting patients in the areas of pain, respiratory, depression and polypharmacy. 

He has particular interests in palliative care and in Pre-Registration training.
