John is a retired pharmacist. Prior to retirement he was Director of Pharmacy for NHS Highland.
He has a wealth of experience in pharmacy having held various positions in clinical, hospital, academic and community pharmacy, a number of which have been at regional and national levels. He has also represented pharmacy at national multidisciplinary level, for example on SIGN and as a Non Executive Director of NHS Quality Improvement Scotland.
John is a member of the National Chronic Medication Service Implementation Reference Group and a visiting Professor at the School of Pharmacy at the University of Strathclyde. He was awarded the RPSGB Charter Gold Medal in 2007.
