RPS Scotland launches online pharmacy best practice hub

A brand new pharmacy best practice hub, hosted on the RPS Scotland website, has gone live today (Thursday 11 August).

Pharmacy teams across Scotland are undertaking fantastic work right now, in a variety of settings including community, hospital and general practice pharmacy as well as specialist settings. Many of these examples demonstrate the very best in pharmacy practice, which is supporting the profession to move further towards RPS Scotland’s professional vision for the future of pharmacy, Pharmacy 2030.

The purpose of the hub is to showcase the very best practice which pharmacy teams across Scotland are engaged in. RPS wants to celebrate this and share these examples with healthcare professionals, Government, politicians, the public and potential pharmacy students to inspire people into the profession. It also provides a fantastic opportunity for pharmacy teams to share their practice with each other across the country.

The hub is accessible both to RPS Members and the public, providing a fantastic opportunity to demonstrate to as many people as possible the positive impact of pharmacy on everyone’s health and wellbeing. Therefore, the case studies are deliberately written to engage with as wide an audience as possible.

The hub will display examples in both video and written format. Any pharmacist working in Scotland is very welcome to submit a case study example.

Pharmacists wishing to submit examples should use the dedicated form on the hub’s webpage.

Speaking about the launch of the RPS Scotland best practice hub, Clare Morrison, Director for Scotland at RPS, said:

“I’m really excited to launch our best practice hub today. This is a terrific opportunity to raise awareness of pharmacy’s role across a range of healthcare settings, and to educate healthcare professionals, politicians and the public about the important role which pharmacy is playing across Scotland to support health and wellbeing every day.

“I’m proud of the role RPS Scotland has played in developing and hosting the hub. I want there now to be a sense of collective ownership of the hub across pharmacy in Scotland. I invite every pharmacist and pharmacy team to submit their own examples of great practice. I know there is so much fantastic work happening in pharmacy right now, so let’s work together to make sure we’re communicating this to as many people as we can.”
