New resources to support your professional development

We are pleased to announce the launch of new resources to support you with your professional development.

Pre-registration training
Our new range of guidance for pre-registration trainees are there to support and facilitate your development throughout your training, provide you with details and to help you prepare for the new assessment format. Guidance on building rapport with your pre-registration tutor, preparing for your progress reviews, a pre-registration timeline and an overview of the pre-registration training all provide you with tools to gain the most out of your pre-registration training.

Foundation programme
We have developed two new tools for the Foundation Portfolio as part of the RPS Foundation programme

The Consultation Skills Assessment (CSA) is a reflective tool used to support the development of consultation behaviours and skills, and particularly helps Foundation pharmacists to develop and demonstrate competencies in the Patient and Pharmaceutical Care cluster of the Foundation Pharmacy Framework (FPF).

A Reflective account tool to help you review and reflect on your practice, and plan your professional development. It can be used to reflect on a specific patient case, learning event, or activity; or to reflect on your progress over a certain period. A reflective account can be completed as frequently as required.

Mentoring
Our vision, as an organisation akin to a Royal College, is that every member will have opportunities to develop and advance, and will have support from RPS mentors and tutors. To help facilitate this we have developed the Mentoring Handbook. This professional resource is for pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists who are new to mentoring, as well as for existing mentors who want to refresh their knowledge and skills in mentoring, and for mentees who want to learn more about what they can expect from their mentor.
