Working alongside AIM, CCA, NPA and PSNC, we’ve co-signed new guidance for community pharmacies in England to use when planning to provide COVID-19 vaccinations.
Titled Planning to provide COVID-19 vaccinations in community pharmacies, the document outlines some of the key considerations and requirements for providing the vaccination service.
It comes following a new designation process by NHS England and Improvement for community pharmacies to follow and we’ve shared some advice on the issues you should consider before applying to be a vaccination site.
Claire Anderson, Chair of the English Pharmacy Board, said:
“Pharmacists across the health service have shown an incredible commitment to making the COVID-19 vaccination programme a success.
“As the programme continues to expand in England, we’ve welcomed steps to enable more community pharmacy-led sites to play their part in tackling one of the biggest health challenges of our time.
“With the right support and planning, pharmacists and their teams can play a key role in widening vaccine uptake in their local communities.”
