Showcasing pharmacy excellence in Scotland

RPS in Scotland, together with the University of Strathclyde, hosted the 3rd Research and Development event in Glasgow on 18 September.

An impressive 70 posters from across all sectors of pharmacy were submitted for the event. Research authors were joined by Prof Rose Marie Parr (Chief Pharmaceutical Officer for Scotland), Jonathan Burton (Chair, Scottish Pharmacy Board) and Alex MacKinnon (Director for Scotland).

The event consisted of a networking session, poster walk and prize giving for the favourite poster. The trophy was won by Gayle Anderson and Lesley Giblin from NHS Grampian for their poster “Improving education on the safe use of medicines in breastfeeding for FY1 doctors”.

Commenting on the success of the event, Director for Scotland Alex MacKinnon said: “I am absolutely delighted by the number of posters submitted for our event. The quality and variety of the work showcased was absolutely outstanding.”

This was the third year in which the University of Strathclyde has organised a joint research event for pharmacy. Photos and tweets from last night are available on the RPS in Scotland Twitter profile.
