We urge GPhC to resolve registration assessment issues

We’ve written to the Chair of the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) calling for urgent clarification on issues relating to the upcoming registration assessment.

The letter follows reports expressed by our members who’ve experienced difficulty in booking arrangements for the exam.

We are now urging the GPhC to address these matters quickly and provide clarification ahead of the assessment.

Sandra Gidley, President of the RPS, said:

“This period is already such a difficult time for pre-registration and provisionally registered pharmacists, who’ve done so much for the profession during COVID-19. They do not deserve to be put under additional and unnecessary stress, considering they’re currently busy preparing for the exam. The GPhC must urgently resolve these booking arrangement issues and ensure all candidates can properly prepare for their assessment in a few weeks’ time.

“Provisionally registered pharmacists have been working tirelessly during the pandemic, playing a huge role in protecting public safety and caring for patients, all while balancing this work with their studies. It is only right and fair that they get the best possible support to enable them to become fully registered pharmacists.”
