Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW) and Cardiff University will be offering a post-registration foundation pharmacist programme to newly registered pharmacists in Wales, which will use the newly published RPS post-registration foundation curriculum.
The curriculum reflects the core changes to pharmacist practice, including achieving independent prescribing status.
The programme will build upon the HEIW multi-sector Foundation training year and is aimed at newly registered pharmacists emerging from July 2022 onwards.
Cheryl Way, Chair of the RPS Welsh Pharmacy Board, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for newly registered pharmacists in Wales.
“The programme is based on the RPS post-registration foundation curriculum, will help pharmacists provide care that meets more complex patient needs and aligns with the ‘A Healthier Wales’ agenda.”
If you are a current trainee pharmacist interested in undertaking this programme or an employer organisation in Wales wishing to offer one or a number of positions, please complete the Expression of Interest form.
The programme will start in September 2022 and the form is open until March 4.
