RPS represented at community pharmacist reception with Prince Charles

RPS President Professor Claire Anderson and Chair of the English Pharmacy Board Thorrun Govind attended the reception for community pharmacists hosted by The Prince of Wales on Wednesday, May 4.

The Prince of Wales gave a speech to almost 200 community pharmacists in St James’s Palace, praising them for their work during the pandemic.

RPS President Professor Claire Anderson said: “It was fantastic to represent RPS, our members, and the pharmacy profession at the NPA reception last night, and an honour to speak with HRH the Prince of Wales about community pharmacy.

“We talked about pharmacists being accessible in all communities across Great Britain, as well as the increasing number of independent prescribers and pharmacy teams’ expertise being put to proper use.

“It is fantastic to see the Prince of Wales honouring community pharmacists up and down the country who have worked flat out during the pandemic to ensure all members of the community have access to medicines, advice and support.”
