Pharmacy apprenticeships on hold

The Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education has announced that proposals for a five-year pharmacy apprenticeship are on hold until representatives from a wider range of pharmacy sectors are included in the Trailblazer group and further engagement takes place with stakeholders.

The RPS has many concerns that need to be answered on behalf of members before any proposals could be taken further.  We will remain vigilant and monitor the situation closely, keeping members informed as the situation develops.

Gail Fleming, RPS Director for Education and Professional Development said: “We are delighted that the need to listen to the profession has been recognised.

“It is important to ensure that all pharmacy sectors have a voice. We will continue to work with our members to make sure that their views and concerns are heard,” she added.
