Scottish National Seminar – now open for registrations

Registrations are now open for the 2017 RPS Scottish National Seminar. Book your place now!

We are pleased to announce that our Scottish National Seminar 2017: “Pharmacy for the future – building on strong foundations” is now open for registrations.

The Seminar will take place on Saturday 30 September and Sunday 1 October 2017 at Stirling Court Hotel.

The seminar’s mixture of plenary and practice ‘hot topic’ sessions is an excellent opportunity to learn from your peers, extend your networks across pharmacy and cement how the profession can enhance patient care and services.

Day one of the Scottish National Seminar will provide you with a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills and progress your professional development. The day consists of two distinct strands. The first strand is aimed at recently qualified and pre-registration students qualifying this year and will host our pharmacy foundation essential skills boot camp delivered by our affiliated partner Pharmacy Management (please note that this is available only to RPS members and is capped at 30 delegates). The second strand, taking place in the afternoon, is aimed at practitioners from all sectors and focuses on the RPS Roadmap and the Faculty with the aim of helping you to get you ready for revalidation.

Day two consists of a combination of plenary and workshop sessions with the aims of ensuring that you come away better informed and able to apply best practice in these areas and take the lead in service development to enhance patient care.

More details are available from the “Pharmacy for the future – building on strong foundations” webpage with further detailed information about individual workshops, CPD accreditation and speakers to be added over the coming weeks.

The official Twitter hashtag of the seminar is #RPSScot17.

We need your support.

Your dedication and commitment during the pandemic has been exceptional.

As we brace for a surge of coronavirus infections, we know that pharmacy will be at the forefront of delivering healthcare.

Whether it’s flu vaccinations or dealing with local lockdowns we need decisions and assurances from the Government to make sure our profession can cope. We must make sure pharmacists get enough supplies of PPE, rapid access to testing in all care settings, and the recognition you deserve.

You told us that our leadership and resources during in the early months of the pandemic were of critical importance. We are now updating our highly valued COVID-19 resources and training webinars to make sure they reflect current - and changing - guidance.

If the enormous mental and physical strain of the past few months is repeated ahead of this winter, the health service will be on its knees. We will be there to make sure pharmacists get mental health and wellbeing support.

We will continue to work hard to give you the tools and guidance to do your job safely. And fight to make sure you get the recognition you deserve.
We are proud to support you. But without members, none of this will be possible.

Become a member and help us do even more.
Joining costs just 60p a day. And means that, whatever the future holds, we will be here for you, so you can support the public and patients.
