Turriff community pharmacist, Johnathan Laird MRPharmS, was congratulated by Nanette Milne MSP today on reaching the regional finals of the ‘I Love My Pharmacist’. Nanette visited Johnathan’s pharmacy with Parliamentary candidates Colin Clark and Miles Briggs to hear more about his work supporting asthma patients. This cause is particularly close to Nanette’s heart as the Conservative Public Health Spokesperson and the convenor of the asthma cross-party group.
“It has been a real pleasure to welcome Nanette Milne MSP, Colin Clarke and Miles Briggs to our pharmacy in Turrif today," said Johnathan. "It was great to talk to her about my work supporting asthma patients, as I know this is an area of particular interest to her as the convenor of the Asthma Group.
“I was delighted that Nanette was able to congratulate me on becoming a regional finalist in the Royal Pharmaceutical Society’s ‘I Love My Pharmacist’ competition. This has been a brilliant opportunity to highlight the integral part pharmacists play in the health and social care team. We provide expert medicines advice and a wide range of accessible services – such as the smoking cessation, chronuic medication and minor ailments services – in the interest of patient care.
“I appreciate all the support I have received so far from being in this competition.”
Johnathan was chosen as a regional finalist for going above and beyond the call of duty for his patients. There is one week left to vote in the ‘I Love My Pharmacist’ competition. Find out more at: www.ilovemypharmacist.co.uk/competition
