PSNC has confirmed that the normal training requirements for pharmacists providing the flu vaccination service are being reinstated for the 2021/22 season.
PSNC has stated that pharmacists will be expected to attend face-to-face flu vaccination refresher training at the appropriate time. Pharmacists who were due to attend in 2020 or 2021 will be required to renew their face-to-face refresher training this year for both injection technique and basic life support (including adrenaline administration). This should be repeated on a three-yearly basis.
Pharmacists are also expected to undertake annual training, to ensure they are keeping up to date with latest guidance and any changes in practice.
