Donate to Pharmacist Support when you join RPS

You can now donate to Pharmacist Support when you join or renew your membership of RPS.

Pharmacist Support has been supporting pharmacists, former pharmacists, trainees and MPharm students for over 180 years.

Their free and confidential support includes an information & enquiry service, counselling and peer support, financial assistance, specialist advice in the areas of debt, benefits and employment law, Wardley wellbeing service and addiction support.

RPS President Professor Claire Anderson said: “Many of our members have benefitted from services provided by Pharmacist Support, which relies solely on donations from individuals and organisations.

“We work closely with them to better understand the mental health and wellbeing of the workforce, particularly through joint events and our annual workforce wellbeing survey.

“We’ve now made donating even easier by providing an option of giving when you join or renew your membership of RPS.

“Your donation could help change the life of a colleague facing difficulty. I urge you to support the profession’s charity which does such great work offering a helping hand at times of need and is needed now more than ever before.”

Pharmacist Support Chief Executive Danielle Hunt said:

"We’re proud that 182 years on from our inception that the profession’s charity is still going strong. Our partnership with the RPS enables us to connect with many across the profession and helps us to ensure that our support remains relevant and useful to pharmacists today.

"We’re absolutely delighted that RPS members are now able to donate directly to the charity. Respondents to our 2019 market research said they wanted simple ways to donate to the charity and one of their preferred methods of giving was through RPS membership fees. Through the addition of this new fundraising strand to our partnership we hope to secure valuable income enabling us to continue to provide our free and confidential support for many years to come.

"Although donations can now be made through RPS, membership of any professional support organisation is not required to access our services. As an independent charity, MPharm students, trainees, pharmacists and former pharmacists across Great Britain can come to us as and when they need us.

"Anyone of us at any time can face challenging or uncertain circumstances and may need some advice, guidance or merely a supportive listening ear. All donations to the charity make a difference and the impact we can make as a result can be life-changing."
