Find out more about a new pharmacy education development opportunity in Scotland

There is an exciting secondment opportunity from the service, for a Pharmacy Educational Development initiative based jointly between the Royal Pharmaceutical Society in Scotland (Edinburgh base) and with NES (Glasgow base).

The post is 0.5 whole time equivalent (WTE) for up to a year (flexible) and is an excellent opportunity for an experienced pharmacist (equivalent to AfC Band level 8B) to expand their career experience in education and training working at a national level. The part-time nature of the post will allow you time to continue to develop your current skills in practice with your current employer, while undertaking this specific piece of work.

The work will require a full scoping of potential career frameworks in the Pharmacy community sector from early years training and beyond including reference to the RPS Foundation and Faculty framework for practitioners. Generic competencies existing within NES Vocational Hospital Training Programme will also be explored. The post holder will be expected to develop a proposal for potential career frameworks for community pharmacy practitioners within NHS Scotland. There is an opportunity for registration with a School of Pharmacy for MPhil as a result of undertaking this project.
