Today is International Women’s Day, a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women's equality.

To mark the day, RPS Head of Engagement and Professional Belonging, Amandeep Doll, co-hosted a packed event at RPS on this year's theme #InspireInclusion, alongside the Female Pharmacy Leaders Network, Pharmacy Technicians of Colour, UK Black Pharmacists Association, British Pharmaceutical Students Association and Guild of Healthcare Pharmacists.

A confidence-building workshop tackling imposter syndrome was followed by insightful discussions on the intersectional challenges of gender by a panel of pharmacy professionals. The event ended with the opportunity to network and connect.

RPS aims to empower and excel members of the profession in their careers and as part of this, we’re also encouraging women to get involved in our mentoring platform. Women mentors play a vital role in empowering women mentees, nurturing their self-belief, and bolstering their confidence. Take a look at our latest blog Empowering women in pharmacy through mentoring from RPS Education and Training pharmacist Rhianna Nathwani.

Amandeep Doll said: “International Women's Day is a reminder of the power and resilience of women worldwide. It's a celebration of progress made, but also a call to action for the work still ahead. The Royal Pharmaceutical Society marks this day to highlight the invaluable contributions of women in pharmacy and beyond, and to reaffirm our commitment to fostering a culture of inclusion and diversity where every voice is heard and valued."
