New Stay Well Pharmacy campaign

A new campaign from NHS England will encourage people to use their pharmacy as a first port of call.

NHS England is launching a campaign to encourage people to use their local pharmacy as a first port of call for minor health concerns.

Running from 12th February to 31st March 2018 the campaign aims to increase the public’s trust and confidence in community pharmacy teams as the place to go for clinical advice for minor health concerns, and encouraging people to use pharmacies rather than visiting their GP as a first port of call.

Three key symptoms will be the focus of the campaign. These are:

  • Sore throats
  • Coughs and colds
  • Tummy problems

All pharmacies in England will receive a branded toolkit from the Healthcare Distribution Association the week of 12th February so pharmacy teams are asked to watch out for it arriving and start to use it immediately.

To support pharmacy teams, the national pharmacy organisations have worked to compile this one-stop resources hub, hosted by PSNC, linking to all the most up-to-date clinical resources to help you to manage minor illnesses, and identify any red flag symptoms. Pharmacy teams are encouraged to use the hub and share it with colleagues.

Details of this campaign are strictly embargoed and should not be used in the public domain until its launch on 12th February 2018.
