News Story: Parents and carers advised to inspect Buccolam oral syringes before use

The MHRA has published a news story: Parents and carers advised to inspect Buccolam oral syringes before use. The MHRA want to make sure parents and carers of children who are using Buccolam are aware of the practical steps to take should they need to dispense this medicine. Pharmacists who prescribe and dispense Buccolam have also been asked to share this information with parents and caregivers.

On 7 December 2017, the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) issued a class 4 drug alert for all unexpired batches of BUCCOLAM (midazolam) Oromuscosal Solution Pre-filled Syringes. Further details of the alert, the direct healthcare professional communication and action to take are available on the MHRA website.
