One bag of wasted medicines worth a week in the Bahamas

Pharmacist and senior journalist at the Pharmaceutical Journal Lin-Nam Wang talked about her BBC online feature on medicines waste on BBC News 24 and BBC Radio Coventry and Warwickshire this morning. As a practising pharmacist, Lin-Nam believes that patients should be told how much their medicines cost as part of a strategy to reduce some the £300 million annual cost to the NHS of wasted medicines. Her interview was sparked by her original blog in the PJ in which she wrote of her shock at the amount of medicines which end up being incinerated every year. Her blog is still open for comments.
