RPS Chief Scientist celebrated as pioneer in the pharmaceutical industry

The Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry has been celebrating International Women’s Day by honouring women in pharmacy.

Jayne Lawrence, Chief Scientist at RPS, has been nominated as one of ten women who have ‘helped pioneer developments and inspire future generations of women to get involved in the pharmacy industry’.

Jayne is also Professor of Biophysical Pharmaceutics at Kings College London and head of the Pharmaceutical Biophysics group. She is also the Vice-Chair of the Academy of Pharmaceutical Sciences. Jayne has been selected for this honour alongside 4 Nobel Prize winners, including Tu YouYou, and Rosalind Franklin, whose work led to the discovery of the DNA Double Helix. Our first female President, Jean Kennedy Irvine was also honoured in the top ten.

We are delighted that Jayne’s hard work and passion for pharmacy has been recognised in this way and are proud to have her on the team.
