RPS England urges community pharmacists to take up training

Free post registration training is available from Health Education England

Community pharmacists in England can now enrol on free training at Masters level through the Pharmacy Integration Fund.

You can choose to take a single or range of modules and learning will encompass five strands: service improvement; extended skills; patient activation; delivering medicines optimisation; and NHS England clinical priorities.

The modules provide:

  • A choice of flexible study options reducing the need for travel
  • Self-directed learning with some face to face learning and workplace assessments
  • Local support and learning networks.

Provision runs from February 2018 to March 2019 and is for the equivalent of up to 2,000 postgraduate certificates.

At the end of the course you will have enhanced skills and experience of best practice and working within integrated multidisciplinary teams, which you can take back into your healthcare community.

RPS England Board Chair Sandra Gidley said: "I'd urge community pharmacists to take up this opportunity if at all possible. Developing your skills supports the delivery of high quality healthcare for patients."
