RPS England welcomes new voluntary regulator for aesthetic practitioners
Pharmacists who are aesthetic practitioners can register with a new voluntary regulator
A new voluntary regulator for cosmetic practitioners in England, the Joint Council for Cosmetic Practitioners (JCCP), will go live from 1st March 2018.
The RPS has been part of the working group to establish the JCCP and has provided input into the new cosmetic practice standards to ensure that pharmacists are considered alongside other professions.
RPS England Chair Sandra Gidley said:
"We fully support pharmacists who wish to develop their scope of practice. Those who provide specialist services, including non-surgical procedures such as Botox, should have the appropriate training to ensure that patients receive the best possible care. We welcome opportunities to work with training providers and other stakeholders to ensure pharmacists are able to access the same high quality training as other healthcare practitioners."
