RPS in Scotland launches manifesto

Yesterday the RPS in Scotland had its official launch for its 2016 manifesto. “Right Medicine – Better Health – Fitter Future” outlines RPS in Scotland’s priorities for the government ahead of the Scottish elections in May.

Hosted at the Royal Pharmaceutical Society’s base in Edinburgh, the event was attended by the Scottish Pharmacy Board, CEO Helen Gordon and President Ash Soni OBE. Each attendee signed a pledge to show their support for the recommendations. The manifesto calls for policy makers to ensure that everyone in Scotland has access to pharmacists’ expertise in medicines and are able to receive pharmaceutical care regardless of setting.

Scottish Pharmacy Board Chair, Dr John McAnaw, encouraged members to invite MSPs and candidates to sign the pledge in a live statement via Periscope: “I am delighted to launch our 2016 manifesto… We hope that candidates will engage with pharmacy and learn a little bit more about what we’re doing in more detail and see the great things that are happening.”
