RPS launches Research Resource Hub
We are delighted to announce the launch of our new Research Resource Hub. The research hub offers members guidance and support on their research journey from developing an idea and defining appropriate methodology through to applying for funding, undertaking research and communicating findings. Research and evaluation are key elements of professional development, including the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS) Foundation and Faculty programmes and core to robust evidence informed practice. Our resources are designed to enable pharmacists to develop the core skills required to successfully undertake research and evaluation activities throughout their career.
Mr Martin Astbury, FRPharmS, RPS President, says:
''Through our 5 year strategy we are committed to supporting the education and development of the profession and to driving forward research and innovation in medicines and healthcare. A workforce enabled and supported in research, evidence and evaluation, regardless of sector or career stage, provides the best possible care for patients and the public".
Professor Christine Bond, Chair of the RPS Pharmaceutical Science Expert Advisory Panel (PS-EAP), says:
“Developing capacity for research in pharmacy is core to the RPS science strategy, led by the PS-EAP. Robust, well designed and well conducted research enables pharmacy to generate evidence to demonstrate the effectiveness of pharmacy services on improving the health of individual patients and the wider population. This new resource will provide all pharmacists with the basic knowledge to conduct their own research and to assess the evidence generated by others”.
The new hub is an invaluable resource for pharmacists looking to engage in research or develop their research competencies.
