The ‘Pharmacy Research for Wales: a 5 year strategic action plan for research in Pharmacy’ has been launched today.  The RPS has been working across the UK to support pharmacists leading research, to develop clinical academic career pathways and to raise awareness of the role of pharmacy in research.

Mair Davis, Director for Wales comments ‘developing the evidence base for pharmacy is vital to the future of the profession.  RPS Wales are key stakeholders in a coordinated underpinning of research across Wales to ensure that aspiring researchers are fully supported at all career levels and we are committed to developing pharmacists in research. Developing structured leadership pathways for research, evidence and evaluation in Wales will ensure our continued success at the forefront of innovative research and excellence in patient care’
Dr Rachel Joynes, Head of Research and Evaluation added: ‘Engaging with research and evaluation is a core component of professional development. The new strategy will increase engagement across the research community in Wales and raise awareness of the support available to those wishing to undertake pharmacy research.’
