Six months on from the introduction of the new law on drug driving
in England and Wales, RPS Professional Support Pharmacist Katie Perkins was interviewed by BBC Radio Kent this morning about what patients should be aware of when taking medicines and driving to ensure they are not impaired.
Primarily intended to catch those driving whilst taking illegal drugs, there are a number of prescription medicines which are now also covered by the new law. The specified limit allows for normal recommended doses that most patients would be prescribed if they were taking their medicines as intended.
RPS has a quick reference guide
for pharmacists and their patients to provide further information and clarity on the topic.
