RPS Wales seeks views on the role of pharmacy in palliative and end of life care

The outcome will be a policy to highlight the roles of pharmacists

The Royal Pharmaceutical Society in Wales wants to hear your views on the role of pharmacy in palliative and end of life care.
Palliative and end of life care will be a key priority for RPS Wales throughout 2018. A policy is being developed to highlight the important role that pharmacists already play in palliative and end of life care as well as recommendations that will allow patients to benefit further from pharmacists skills and knowledge. A campaign to encourage the Welsh Government, local health boards and other key decision makers to accept and adopt these recommendations will then follow.

We are determined that the content of the policy and the accompanying recommendations reflects the views and experiences of our membership and patients. If you have a keen interest in improving palliative and end of life care for patients, we would be delighted if you could join us at one of our focus groups over the coming weeks to help shape our policy. You do not have to be a specialist in this area to have your say:

  • Monday, February 26, 4pm-6pm at Faenol Fawr, Bodelwyddan
  • Wednesday, February 28, 4pm-6pm at the Ivy Bush, Carmarthen
  • Thursday, March 1, 4pm-6pm at the Park Inn, Llanedeyrn, in Cardiff

If you are unable to attend the focus groups, we also have a Survey Monkey questionnaire where you can give your views. If you'd like to find out more about the campaign, please get in touch with Elen Jones, Practice & Policy Lead for Wales at [email protected]
