Show your MP the new flu service!

RPS is encouraging community pharmacists and pharmacy teams to help promote the new national flu vaccination service in England by inviting local MPs and councillors to visit their pharmacy.
The Society has joined forces with the Pharmaceutical Services Negotiating Committee and Pharmacy Voice to produce a toolkit of template materials to help pharmacists get involved in the campaign by making organising visits as straightforward as possible. The toolkit includes:
In a joint statement, the organisations said:
“We expect community pharmacies to have given more than 150,000 flu vaccinations by the end of this week so it’s clear that this new Advanced Service is going really well in many areas. Pharmacy teams are obviously doing a brilliant job promoting the service within their local communities and we look forward to seeing this continue.
“Inviting an MP or councillor to a pharmacy to showcase the flu vaccination service is a great way to help promote the service and pharmacy to local politicians. If local media are also involved, then it can also help to promote it to the public to generate wider interest in the service. We hope these resources will make organising such a visit very easy, and we look forward to hearing about some successful visits.”
All the resources to set up a visit are also available on our Get Involved! page, and you can find out more about RPS’s public affairs work and MP pharmacy visits on the Talking To Government webpages, by following @RPS_Stakeholder on Twitter, or joining the Your Voice in Government network.
