Sibby Buckle confirmed as RPS Treasurer

Sharon Isobel Tait Buckle, known as Sibby, a member of the English Pharmacy Board and RPS Assembly, has been elected unopposed as the Treasurer of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society. Sibby takes over the role from Mr Andre Yeung, whose tenure finished in June 2022.

Sibby was first elected to the English Board in 2012 and is the first woman to hold the post since RPS became the professional leadership body in 2010. She is already part of the Finance and Investment committee, where RPS budgets, pensions, assets, financial priorities and performance, reserves and investment policies are scrutinised and agreed.

Sibby Buckle said: “I want to build on the great contribution made by our previous Treasurer. Over the next two years of my tenure I will monitor and challenge our financial performance, our focus on Environmental, Social and Governance factors (ESG), investment strategy and performance and our financial governance.

“As the professional leadership body we need to plan carefully, invest wisely, and secure a bright and financially positive future. My drive, focus and passion continues to be as an ambassador for pharmacy with decision makers at the highest levels so we can deliver for our members.”

RPS President Professor Claire Anderson said: “Sibby’s experience with RPS and career achievements make her ideal for the post of Treasurer and I look forward to working with her.”
