Press Release

Steven Tomlin, RPS spokesperson and consultant pharmacist, warns that parents may inadvertently harm their children with paracetamol

Of the medicinal products for children that they are aware of, only a quarter (27%) of parents actually know which contain paracetamol, reveals new research by the Royal Pharmaceutical Society. With many of these products being used to treat ailments that they have no proven effect on, there is a danger that some children could be exposed to liver damage through accidental paracetamol misuse.

The story was widely covered in the media including Daybreak, BBC London, BBC Scotland and BBC Wales.
