Director for Scotland
Clare joined RPS in September 2020 as Director for Scotland.
Clare studied pharmacy at the University of London and post-graduate qualifications including independent prescribing at Robert Gordon University. She has extensive experience in quality improvement, and has completed both the Scottish Quality & Safety Fellowship and the US-based Intermountain Advanced Training Program in health care improvement.
Clare has had a diverse career working in community pharmacy, GP practice pharmacy, NHS board pharmacy and pharmacy journalism. This has included leading the Scottish Patient Safety Programme’s pharmacy pilot in NHS Highland through which the NSAIDs bundle was developed; and creating the Caithness model of pharmaceutical care which is described in the Scottish GP contract. Most recently, Clare was the National Lead for NHS Near Me video consulting at the Scottish Government.
She is a Fellow of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society and was awarded an MBE for services to health care in 2018.
