Dr Brady undertook his initial clinical training in King’s College Hospital, London, where he went on to specialise in Renal Medicine.

In 2004 he returned to QUB to undertake a PhD in Clinical Microbiology under Professor Michael Tunney, following which he held a post as a Lecturer in Pharmacy Practice.

Since September 2009 he has worked in the Belfast Trust, specialising in Critical Care and Antimicrobial Stewardship. From 2013 to 2016 he took a sabbatical in QUB to conduct post-doctoral research into micro-needle mediated therapeutic drug monitoring as part of Professor Ryan Donnelly’s research group.

Dr Brady is also a Visiting Scholar at QUB.
